William Frederick "Bill" Rebman, 92 of Beardstown, died Monday, October 2, 2023 at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by family.
He was born August 12, 1931, in Beardstown, the son of Harold and Martha Rohn Rebman. He married Beverly June Jockisch on September 13, 1953 and she survives in Beardstown.
He is also survived by his three daughters Ava Moore of Beardstown, Arla (Bruce) Bain of Maine, and Karen (Kent) Gutmann of Ashland; 10 grandchildren Elizabeth Moore, Amberly (Zachary) Kane, Emily (Adam Ullius) Bain, Bruce (Taylor) Bain III, Charles Bain, Thomas Bain, Kimberly (Alex Frogge) Bain, David Bain, and Patrick Bain, and Katelyn Gutmann; three great grandchildren Sophia, Colton, and Adeline; one brother Harold Louis "Louie" Rebman of Camden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Louise Fisher, Edna Jean (Loran) Osborne, Mary Jane Merrey, a son-in-law Les Moore, and a sister-in-law Joyce Rebman.
William graduated from Rushville High School in 1949. He honorably served in the United States Army as a Chaplain Assistant and attended Asbury University in Kentucky after completing his tour. He worked for MoorMan's Feed Company for 14 years and served as Pastor to Galesburg Church of the Nazarene for 5 years. He retired as a General Contractor serving Beardstown and the surrounding communities for 20 years. William was a member of the Mt. Sterling Church of the Nazarene. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, playing cards, playing guitar, playing fastpitch softball, and woodworking. He and his wife fostered many children. His greatest joy was being with family.
Memorial services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 4-6 PM Friday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
