Bill Johnson

William Preston "Bill" Johnson, 69, of Pleasant View, died at his home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

He was born January 16, 1956, in Peoria, the son of William Robert Johnson and Julia Wys Johnson Anderson.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Anderson of Pleasant View; four children, Jacob Johnson of Peoria, Angela Johnson of St. Peter's, MO, Rebecah Johnson of East Moline, and Robert Jones of Indiana; nine grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Turner of Meredosia; two brothers Kevin Johnson of Pleasant View, and Lawrence Johnson (wife Melissa) of Meredosia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, his stepfather George Edward Anderson; a daughter, Alisha Johnson; a sister, Debbie Johnson; and a brother, Roy Scott Johnson.

Bill attended Bluffs Schools and built a career as a maintenance worker. For a time, he also fished commercially for clams and enjoyed collecting coins. Known for his generosity, Bill would engage in conversation with anyone and stop whatever he was doing to help others in need.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no burial. The family will meet with friends one hour before the services at the memorial home on Friday.
