Vivian Maxine Wayman, 92 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born January 7, 1931 in Beardstown, the daughter of Orville A. Wayman and Frances Hardy Raub.
She is survived by special friends Mary Ann and Scott Davis of Beardstown and her cat Nipper. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Melvin Raub, her son David Wayman, and a dear friend, Iva Brown.
Vivan was an only child who spent her life in the Beardstown community. She graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1948. She worked at Schmitt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown until its closing and started with St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She retired at the age of 72. Vivian was of the Christian faith, always stayed active, and wanted to do things herself. She enjoyed being a part of a card club with her friend Iva. She had a love of all animals and fostered many cats. For the past 14 years, she has volunteered with the Bread of Love Program at the Golden Age Center in Beardstown. She always took pride in keeping the candy bowl full and decorating for each holiday.
Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Beardstown City Cemetery. Colwell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
