Tracey Laws

Tracey Lynn Laws, age 47 of Springfield and formerly of Beardstown, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at her home.

She was born August 30, 1974 in Rushville, the daughter of David and Vicki Patterson Chambers.

She is survived by her mother Vicki Chambers of Springfield; her father David (companion Nancy Giovannini) Chambers of Bluff Springs; three children Sydney Jayne (companion Kerby Fortner) Laws of Chatham, Cole Edward Laws of Springfield, and Mallory Taylor Smedly of Springfield; her maternal grandmother Betty Patterson of Beardstown; her paternal grandmother Hazel Chambers of Bluff Springs; her sister Kerry (husband Aaron) Slater of Beardstown; and two nieces Olivia and Chloe Slater. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Patrick Patterson and her paternal grandfather Charles Chambers.

Tracey graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1992. She attended Lincoln Land Community College and received her Licensed Practical Nurse License. She worked in the healthcare field as a nurse for over 20 years and enjoyed caring for those in need. Tracey was fashionable and enjoyed hair, makeup, and clothes. She appreciated watching a good murder mystery show in her free time. She was known for her quick wit but especially the love she had for her children. An unfillable void will be left by those who loved her the most.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Monday, July 18,2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no formal services.
