Tony Lee Burnett, age 62 of Alton, died on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.
He was born February 16, 1962, in Columbia, MO the son of Ray and Margaret Ticknor Burnett.
He is survived by two daughters Jill (companion Nathaniel White) Burnett and Olyvia (husband Jacob) Webber; a son Lee (wife Leigh) Burnett; 6 grandchildren; three sisters Patty (husband Bob) Dale, Karen (husband Tom) Guinn and Sharon (husband Mike) Phillips; one brother George Burnett; an aunt Judy (husband James) Bates; an uncle Willy Barnett; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Timmy Burnett.
Tony attended Jacksonville Schools and later received his GED. He was employed with District 117 as a custodian, owned and operated Tony Burnett's Sparkling Clean windows, and did missionary work around the country. He enjoyed fishing, singing, playing guitar, and playing the harmonica. Tony was an Evel Knievel enthusiast/wannabe. He loved having a good time, which included a cold beer in his hand. He had an unwavering faith in God, which he received from reading his Bible. His love for life was infectious, and he always found joy in the simple things.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 25, 2024 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Friday. Following the burial anyone who would like to continue celebrating Tony's life is welcomed to stop at Floyd's 104 Bar and Grill in Meredosia.
