Teresa Tippey

Teresa de Jesus Figueroa Tippey, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, and Tia, age 44 of Beardstown, lost her battle with Cancer on Thursday, August, 18, 2016.

She was born September 5, 1971 in Brownsville, TX, the daughter of Pedro Figueroa Sr. and Margarita Zarate. She married Justin Tippey on August 15, 2009.

She is survived by her husband Justin Tippey of Beardstown, her mother, four children Teresa (husband Javier) Quintana, Angel (wife Arleneys), Daisy, and Chris Quintana all of Beardstown; eight siblings Noe Figueroa, Melchor Figueroa, Elena Figueroa Pierce, Gaspar Figueroa, Balthazar Figueroa, Dolores Figueroa Mustafa, Rosalinda Figueroa Reed, and Francisco Amaro; and four grandchildren Adamaris and Dailyn Gazcon, and Jayceon and Angelianys Quintana

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother Pedro “Pete” Figueroa, Jr., and a stillborn baby.

Teresa has worked at Cargil, now JBS, in Beardstown for twenty years and was a member of Watermark Fellowship. God and family were her priorities. She loved cooking for everyone and was especially known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and soups. Teresa was also very health conscious and was always staying active or exercising During her life, she faced many trials and tribulations, but with the Grace of God, she was able to triumph in her battles. She now lives in the glory with her father and brother. She is dearly loved and missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, August 22, 2016 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will follow in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at the memorial home.
