Susan Oettle

Susan Marie Oettle, age 54 of Beardstown, died Monday, November 23, 2020 at her home.

She was born January 1, 1966 in Monmouth, the daughter of Jim and Martha Dixon Oettle.

She is survived by two daughters Missy (fiancé Tyler Starkey) Oettle and Meagan Oettle both of Beardstown; three grandchildren Reid Starkey, Anna Oettle, and Kayde Valdez; and four sisters Marla Martin of Beardstown, Beth Fosterling of Rock Island, Katherine Segura of Pasadina, TX, and Rose Stone of Spring Valley; and one brother William Brooks of Versailles. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Susan graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1984. She worked in housekeeping department at Heritage Health in Jacksonville and dietary at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation.  Susan enjoyed making crafts and cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Her greatest joy was being gathered around family. Susan was a proud mother and grandmother who’s love for her family will continue to live on through them.

Graveside services will be held at 12:15 PM Friday, November 27, 2020 at Beardstown City Cemetery. A private family visitation will be held. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Due to the current health situation, face masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
