Shelby Burch

May 23, 1992 — November 7, 2022

Shelby Blake Burch, 30 of Beardstown, died Monday, November 7, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born May 23, 1992 in Rushville, the son of Robert Bean and Angel Burch Colores. He married Jessica McDonald on August 1, 2020 at Pittsfield Lake and she survives.

He is also survived by his mother Angel Colores (father figure Robert Bean) of Beardstown; five children Damien, Aiden, Kinglee, Helena, and Angel; his maternal grandmother Elva Danner of Beardstown; his sister Leigh (husband Ben) Kassing of Beardstown; his brother Chris (companion Stephanie Fulmer) Nash of Pleasant Hill; his step-sister Misty (husband Rick) Ford of Washington; two sisters-in-law Kelsey Sherfy of New Canton and Tasha McDonald of Quincy; two aunts April Solano of Beardstown and Tonya (husband Mario) Garcia Perez of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a cousin Maya Garcia Perez, a stepsister Heather Post, and his mother-in-law Sandra Schultz.

Shelby attended Beardstown Schools and was of the Catholic Christian faith. He was a hog farmer for Maschhoffs for 7 years and was currently working for JBS. Shelby had a love for the outdoors whether it was camping, hunting, fishing, mushrooming, or cooking around the open fire making his favorite hobo style meal. From a young age, Shelby was always drawing, and his artistic ability led to his passion for tattoos. He was an artist and used his own body as his own personal canvas. Singing at the top of his lungs was also a favorite past time but the love he had for his family was the highlight of his life. Shelby would light up any room that he walked into and wouldn’t allow anyone to be sad around him. He wanted everyone laughing around him and his eye gaze spoke to your soul.

A celebration of life will be held from 3-5 PM Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no formal services.
