Robert Daniel

Robert A. Daniel, 76 of Virginia, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

He was born December 13, 1946, in Jacksonville, the son of James A. and Ruth E. Ash Daniel. He married MaLinda Hish on February 14, 1969 in Virginia and she preceded him in death on July 25, 2022.

He is survived by two sons Jeffery D. (Fiancé Karmen Gullidge) and Sean M. Daniel both of Virginia; and four grandchildren Chase, Brittney, Kim, and Jessica. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother Gary Daniel.

Robert graduated from Virginia High School in the class of 1965. He attended Illinois College before being drafted. He honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a combat medic. Robert and his wife owned and operated MECCA Ambulance Service in Virginia for over 30 years. He had a strong work ethic in which he devoted his life. In his free time he enjoyed photography, riding motorcycles, communicating on his Ham Radio, and nothing more than working.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 1, 2023 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Thursday at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown.
