Phyllis Hager

Phyllis Yvonne Hager, age 93 of Beardstown, departed this earthly life on Monday, February 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born March 19, 1928 in Wagner, SD, the daughter of Owen H. “Cy” and Cecil Irene Fry Crisman. She married Clarence Dale Hager on April 6, 1947 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1995.

She is survived by four children Vicki (husband Kent) Haberman, Terry (wife Linda) Hager both of Beardstown, Emily (husband Kevin) Roberts of Osco, IL, and Aaron (wife Amy) Hager of Champaign; a daughter-in-law Sunny Hager of Beardstown; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Bill Hager, and a daughter Jenny Hager.

Mrs. Hager graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1946. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Beardstown and served alongside her husband in ministry. Besides raising her own family, she was instrumental with all the needs of her church family. Phyllis was a member of Women’s Club and enjoyed calling Bingo at Heritage Health in Beardstown. No sweeter presence than that of a caregiver, Phyllis will be missed by all those for whom she played an influential part in their lives.

Private family services will be held at Beardstown City Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Haberman officiating. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
