Mrs. Brockschmidt attended Browning Schools through her sophomore year and graduated from Rushville High School in the Class of 1949 with honors. She then attended Western Illinois University for two years majoring in business and finance. Patricia wasn’t afraid to work and started her career working for Rushville Board of Education, she then worked for Illinois Bell in Beardstown. Later in life she was a secretary at Beardstown Junior High School and finished her career retiring from Oscar Mayer in Beardstown.
Pat was baptized in the Methodist Faith and was a confirmed and dedicated member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown. She was an original member of the Beardstown Professional Women (Beardstown Ladies). She had a passion for antiquing with her husband and girls. It wasn’t uncommon for the five of them to take a weekend trip looking for treasures leaving the son in laws behind to watch the kids. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and playing pinochle and bridge. She knew her way around the kitchen and her cooking spoke for itself. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. A void is felt but the memories will continue to live on through those who knew her the best.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 3, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Sunday. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
