Norman Milbrandt

Norman Henry Milbrandt died on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Regency Care in Springfield, IL.

He was born December 24, 1935 in Stirum, ND, the son of Robert Frank Milbrandt and Lydia Adeline Ella Meyer Milbrandt. He married Alice Martha Ehlers on April 16, 1960 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2015.

He is survived by children Timothy (wife Christina) Milbrandt of Springfield, Mark Paul Milbrandt of St. Charles, MO, and Janet Kay Milbrandt of Champaign; four grandchildren Alec, Andrew, Katelyn Milbrandt, and Amanda Milbrandt. He is preceded in death by his wife Alice, one son Brian Thomas Milbrandt, sister Adeline Klinkhammer, and brothers Vernon and Wilbur Raymond Milbrandt and parents Robert and Lydia Milbrandt.

Norman graduated in 1953 from Cogswell High School in Cogswell ND. He graduated from Dakota Business College, Fargo, ND in 1954, St John's College Winfield, Kansas in 1957 and Concordia College River Forest, Illinois in 1960. He was employed by Soo Line Railroad, Enderline ND. Immanual Lutheran School, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. St. Johns Lutheran School, Beardstown. Illinois Department of Public Aid in Jacksonville and Beardstown IL. He retired in 1996 from the IL Department of Public Aid.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown. There will be no visitation. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
