Nancy attended Beardstown Schools. She was a waitress in the surrounding area for most of her life. Some may remember her time serving at The Illini, Mallard Inn, Manhattan, or even Wall Street Café, which her mother owned and operated. She had a knack for baking with her mom and even knew how to whip out fifteen pies, delivering them to each within the family. Nancy was most fond of coconut cream or pecan. She loved all the kids, but especially her grandchildren. Visiting with her sister Debbie and traveling with her niece Angie and sister Brenda were always cherished. Nancy knew how to shop until she dropped. She worked hard and helped her husband remodel and operate the Mile 88 for several years. She was the glue that held the family together and would do anything to orchestrate a big family gathering. She had many friends and loved her church and her church family.
Per Nancy's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no formal services. Friends can join the family for a meal at First Christian Church in Beardstown, located at 1421 Beard Street, at noon on Friday, June 14, 2024. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Gentiva Hospice. Condolences may be left online at www.colwellmemorialhome.com or on Facebook at Colwell Memorial Home.
