Myrtle Martin

Myrtle M. Martin, age 79 of Beardstown, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born May 29, 1937 in Oakford, the daughter of Earl and Adah L. Painter Pratt. She married David Allen Martin and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Judy (deceased husband Dumpy) Swan of Beardstown; her son Leonard Pierson of Beardstown; her grandchildren Aaron “Bentley” (companion Becky Shireman) Pierson, Kelly, Brittany, and Kyle; numerous great grandchildren; and two sisters Shirley Morgan and Sue Burton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers and sisters.
Myrtle had previously worked at Casey’s in Ashland, and for the Star Restaurant in Beardstown. She loved playing Bingo and cooking for her family. She will always be known for her funny laugh.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Oakford Cemetery.
