Marilyn Jolly

Marilyn J. “Rasty” Jolly, age 80 of Beardstown, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born May 24, 1936 in Frederick, the daughter of Harold Jolly and Evelyn M. Gillette Farrar.

She is survived her sister Rosanne (deceased husband George) Buck of Beardstown; one niece Georgeann (husband Matt) Logsdon of Beardstown; a special great niece Lacy Logsdon of Beardstown; and a special great nephew Tyler Logsdon of Sacremento, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Keith Jolly.

As a child Marilyn was a member of Beardstown Methodist Church. She graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1954. Following her graduation she moved to the Chicago area working as a welder. Marilyn returned to Beardstown in her later years due to her health and worked 15 years as a cook for the Arrow Restaurant. Kirby her dog wasn’t just a pet but her companion. Marilyn had a very special bond with her great niece Lacy and great nephew Tyler. She will be greatly missed by her family and Kirby.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016at the Beardstown City Cemetery, with Pastor Carl Wiggins officiating. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice or DaVita Dialysis Center in Rushville.
