Marilyn Day

Marilyn Ruth Day, age 80 of Beardstown, died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 21, 1940 in Bluffs, the daughter of Charles Oscar and Ruth Ida Six Bates. She married Ronald L. Day Sr on October 31, 1992 in Phoenix, AZ and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1997.

She is survived by her daughter Allyson Leslie of Lansing, IL and her dear friends Tom and Lisa Buhlig, Mickey Paul, Jamie and CJ Clements, Jim and Joi Walker, and her church and care group family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two half-sisters Mae Brockhouse and Marjorie Anderson, and her beloved dog Troutman.

Marilyn graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1958. She began a 26-year career with Oscar Mayer in Beardstown as a payroll coordinator and then moved to Arizona. When she returned to Beardstown, she worked at First State Bank and was a receptionist and greeter for Cline-Goodwin Funeral Home in Beardstown. Marilyn served on Cass County Township Board, Beardstown Professional Women, and was a member of First Christian Church in Beardstown. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved to give hugs and send inspirational cards to her friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 21, 2021 at Frist Christian Church in Beardstown, with Pastor Mike Courson officiating. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Due to the current health situation, face masks will be required and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
