Larry E. Knous, Sr

Larry Eugene Knous, Sr, 66 of Bluffs, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his home.

He was born January 31, 1958 in Beardstown, the son of Melvin and Betty Lyles Knous. He married Brenda Rich and she preceded him in death on October 18, 2007.

He is survived by two sons Larry Eugene Knous, Jr (his better half Niki Langan) and Jon Michael Knous both of Bluffs; two step-children Josh (wife Michele) Bartels of Chandlerville and John Bartels (wife Sonia) of Bradfordton; an "adopted son Shane Brown of Jacksonville; one granddaughter Kaylee Elizabeth Eilers (companion Conner Campbell); two step-grandchildren Jocelyn and Lainey Bartels; two brothers Jamie Knous of Beardstown and John "Butch" Knous (wife Kathleen) of Petersburg; a sister Shirley Fryer (husband Paul) of Beardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son Jacob Eugene Knous.

Larry attended Beardstown High School. His career began with Steve Morthole Masonry in Jacksonville until he retired in 2010 and was a member of Bricklayers Local #8 of Springfield. Larry was a perfectionist, whether he was working, mowing, or doing whatever he was doing to stay busy. He enjoyed his GI Joe collection, watched Western movies and crime shows, and was always busy.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
