Kimberly Bartels

Kimberly Yvonne "Kim" Bartels, age 65 of Chandlerville, died on Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born August 3, 1957, in Canton, the daughter of Robert Snyder and Donna Nall. She married Steve Bartels on March 16, 1990 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Chandlerville.

She is survived by her husband Steve Bartels of Chandlerville; her children Tiffiny (companion Wendy) Scheland of Springfield, Erica (fiancé Mike Cave) Watkins of Chandlerville, Carla (husband Jeff) Rymer of Madisonville, TN, Jeremy Bartels of Bath, Brittany (husband Scott) Dowling of Stafford, VA, and Zach Lane of Chandlerville; six grandchildren Lexi (husband Justin) Brown, Alyssa (fiancé Colton) Bartels, Ryan and Carlye Harrison, Maddi Cave, and Marlee Cave; one great grandchild Juddson; three sisters Bridget (husband Geno) Agans, Jill (companion Kearin Byrnes) Sizemore, and Sheila (husband David) Smith; five brothers Brad, Curt (wife Illa), and Jerry (wife Debbie)Wilkey, Ryan Snyder and Chuck Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews,. She was preceded in death by her father Robert (wife Irene) Snyder, her mother Donna (husband Jerry) Wilkey, a daughter Amber Lynn, and a sister Jackie Gilmore.

Kim graduated from Junction City High School in Kansas in the class of 1976. She worked for the State of Illinois for 8 years and then with St. John's Hospital in housekeeping. Kimberly had a strong Christian Faith and was a member of American Legion Post #694 in Chanderville. She enjoyed soaking up the Sun, keeping her house clean, and traveling with her husband. Her greatest memories were made with her family but her greatest joy was being a grandma.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church in Chandlerville. Burial will follow in the Chandlerville Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
