Kenneth

Kenneth Eugene Knous, 78 of Beardstown, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born August 9, 1937 in Petersburg, the son of Jessie F. and Dorothy Helen Armstrong Knous. He married Carolyn Hall on August 8, 1964.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Knous of Beardstown; two sons Kevin (wife Ami) Knous of Meredosia and Mark Knous of Beardstown; seven grandchildren Haley, Hannah, Peyton, Parker, Kenny, Destiny, and Justin; one great grandson Ayden; and one sister Geraldine Leonhard of Beardstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Raymond L. (surviving wife Charlotte) Knous of Beardstown.
Kenneth attended the Beardstown Schools and worked and retired from BNSF Railroad after 31 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and built numerous toy trains, painted many scenes, and even built himself a houseboat. When he was younger he could be found on the river fishing or relaxing on his boat. Kenneth worked hard his whole life but he was always there for his family, and was most happy being with them.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at Colwell Memorial Home.
