Judy Mullen

Judy K. Mullen, age 70 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born September 27, 1946 in Beardstown, the daughter of Darrel and Helen Moran Bresnahan. She married Michael “Mike” Mullen on May 1, 1964 in Missouri.

She is survived by her husband Mike Mullen of Beardstown; her mother Helen Bresnahan of Beardstown; her children Mike Jr. (wife Linda ) Mullen, Paul (wife Serena) Mullen, and Rhonda (husband Morris) Dobrovolony all of Beardstown; three grandchildren Jason Mullen (companion Courtney Duesenbury), Sarah Mullen, and Lindsay Mullen. (companion Brad Chavours II); two great grandchildren Caitlyn and Bradley; two brothers John Bresnahan of Beardstown and Jim (wife Nancy) Bresnahan of Bloomington, one sister Jennifer (husband Robert) Wilder of Mapleton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Mullen attended Beardstown Schools. She spent many years working for IFP in Beardstown, Cass County Health Department, and also in the lunch room for Beardstown schools. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown. Judy enjoyed planting flowers, going to Hardee’s for coffee with her good friend Janet Dawson, and Drake her black Labrador retriever. Most of all she cherished her time spent with family.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the memorial home.
