Judith Lee Livingston, 78 of Springfield, died Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 5, 1945 in Beardstown the daughter of Roy and Clara Rose Hobrock Livingston.
She is survived by three sisters Betty Cooper of Beardstown, Sharon “Katie” Livingston of Springfield, and Patricia (husband Bill) French of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews Ted, Terry, Cooper, Cathy Clark, David, Jack, Julie, and Danny; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her Shih Tzu Little Rascal. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Rosmary Suffern, two nephews Tom and Tim Cooper.
Judy graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1963 and attend courses at Lincoln Land Community College. She began her career with Illinois Bell in Beardstown and then when the company went “dial” she moved to Springfield and retired with ATT. She took numerous classes through her employer which helped her learn the computer software portion of her career. Judy was intelligent and knew the phone business so well that she was offered a job in Dallas and spent a year there after retirement. Judy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, handcrafts and photography. She was a baptized and confirmed member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown and was attending Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield. Judy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, especially cheering on Terry Bradshaw. Visiting, movies, and eating with her sisters were the joys of her life along with the time she spent spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 21, 2023 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Friday.
