Joseph "Joey" Peacock

January 13, 1985 — January 9, 2023

Joseph “Joey” Andrew Peacock, 37 of Lincoln and formerly of Beardstown, died Monday, January 9, 2023 at his home.

He was born January 13, 1985 in Jacksonville, the son of Tamara “Tammy” Kost Dodds.

He is survived by his mother Tammy Dodds of Beardstown; a daughter Harper (mother Jennifer Pazsgai) of Lincoln; a sister Sonya Cruz of Macomb; a brother Ryan Peacock of Beardstown; six nieces and nephews Alexis (Fiancé Geo Gonzalez) Acker, Jacqueline Barrett, Andrew Knott, Sophia Trinidad, Jacob Cruz, and Adrian Ortega; 3 great nephews Zane and Elijah Bailey and Gabriel Gonzalez,a great niece Elena Gonzalez and a special friend Pamela Childers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Frank “Buster and Rosemary Altgilbers Kost.

Joey graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 2003 and furthered his education by attending MTI in Springfield in 2011 receiving his HVAC/R technician certification. In his younger years he enjoyed Taekwondo earning many belts and trophies. He tried his hand at baseball, loving the game but not the practices so that was short lived. Joey also had a passion for BMX bike courses and flying through the air on a skateboard. He truly had an addictive personality that led to giving it his all with whatever he had on his mind but also causing him to take some tough stumbles in life. He owned and operated Quick Comfort Heating and Cooling for 6 years and was currently working maintenance/HVAC at Quality Inn in Lincoln, IL. He had been in the Lincoln area for the past 10 years. Joey truly loved his career and spent all his free time reading and educating himself on all things HVAC but nothing compared to the love he had for his daughter. Harper was his world and was the reason that he was good when he was good. His memory will live on through those who loved him the most and will never be forgotten.
