John Timothy Cooper

John Timothy "Tim" Cooper, 68 of Beardstown, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Rushville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on August 1, 1956 in Beardstown, the son of Cairl and Eileen Patterson Cooper. He married Jalene Jay Brunke on March 30, 1991 in Glenwood Springs, CO and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2010.

Tim graduated from Beardstown High School with the class of 1974. Soon after, he moved to Colorado and began a 40-year career as a talented carpenter and welder. Following his retirement he returned "home" to Illinois.

Tim is survived by his friend Julia Barron of Pittsfield; his sisters Jenny (John) Jackson of Portland, OR, Nancy (Ron) Steffen of Beardstown, and Peggy (Gary) Miller of Macomb; his brothers Tom Cooper and Joe Cooper both of Springfield and Pat (Tami) Cooper of Beardstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friends John and Kaye Hardwick. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Jalene and faithful companion Missy, his grandparents Roy and Edna Patterson and Elwood and Geneva Cooper.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held with burial in St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
