Jeff Smedly

William Jeffrey “Jeff” Smedly, age 56 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his home.

He was born November 30, 1960 in Schuyler County, the son of Larry and Kaye Newingham Smedly.

He is survived by his companion Ramona Evans of Beardstown and two Aunts Barb Newingham and Kathy (Richard) Crum.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1977 and then served two years in the United States Army. Jeff was an avid Chicago Cubs and Denver Broncho fan. Most of all he was known for being friendly and outgoing, and would talk to anyone he met.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery in Beardstown. There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials have been suggested to Colwell Memorial Home in care of Jeff Smedly to help with final expenses.
