James Hopping, Sr.

James Eldon Hopping, Sr, age 83 of Nokomis, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his home

He was born June 14, 1938 in Vermont, the son of Jerry and Ruth Pedigo Hopping.

He is survived by his children James (wife Christine) Hopping of Nokomis, Lisa (husband Glenn) Pettet of Oakford, Jennie (companion Randy Izzard) Curtis of Kilbourne, Susan Hopping of Petersburg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Mary, Marge, and Paula Jean, three brothers Paul, Jerry, and Doyle Hopping, and his best friend, Buddy, his dog.

James was self-employed and whatever job needed done he would figure it how to do it. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, walking around town, and being with his friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been suggested to the family of James Hopping, Sr.
