James W. Campbell

James Willison "Jim" Campbell, 67 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born December 25, 1956 in Wichita, KS, the son of Orville and Anna Hankins Campbell. He married Debbie Wilhite on February 2, 1990 and she survives in Beardstown.

He is also survived by two daughters Wendi (husband Jody) Stinson of Jacksonville and Erin (husband Matt) Neal of North Carolina; five grandchildren; one great grandson; one sister Cheryl (husband Curt) Campbell of Meredosia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Aubrey, and three sisters Joyce Albers, Judy Gerecke, and Lisa Knapp.

Jim graduated from Meredosia High School in the class of 1976 and then received a Technology degree from John Wood Community College. He worked 38 years at National Starch in Meredosia until its closing. Jim liked to work with electronics, tearing them apart and rigging up something creative, and tinkering with cars. He enjoyed watching movies and would watch the same movies over and over. Jim spent many hours working in his yard and casting at his favorite fishing hole.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
