Jackson Hea

January 26, 1990 — August 31, 2022

Jackson Harper Hea, 32 of Beardstown, died Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at his home.

He was born on January 26, 1990 in Rushville, the son of Vern Hoenes and Marilyn “Maggie” Hea.

Jackson is survived by his mother Maggie Hea of Beardstown; his father Vern Hoenes (wife Vickey) of Beardstown; his paternal grandparents Ron and Faye Hoenes of Beardstown; one sister Julia Traylor of Beardstown; four brothers David Traylor (fiancé Elizabeth Stone) of Beardstown, Kevin Traylor of Canton, Oliver Hoenes of Beardstown, and Colt Hoenes of Beardstown; a step-brother Alex Taylor of Virginia. He has an aunt Louise (husband Seth) Silverstein; six uncles Joe (wife Danielle) Hea, Ted Hea, Matthew (wife Suzie) Hea, Jim (wife JoAnne) Hea, Cliff (wife Melinda) Hoenes, and Jeff (wife Wanda) Hoenes; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Dr. James Jackson Hea, maternal grandmother Mary Brannan, and an Uncle Chris Hea.

Jackson attended St. John’s Lutheran School through the eighth grade and graduated from Beardstown Charter School class of 2009. He then attended MTI in Springfield and received his journeyman welder certification. He mastered his trade quickly, and MTI asked him to come back as an instructor. Soon after, Jackson began working at ADM in Decatur where he was employed for 10 years in the fabrication shop. He had a passion for music, and could pick up any instrument and begin playing it. He especially enjoyed his six string bass guitar and the drums. In his free time, he loved camping and cooking but most of all he loved his cats.  Jackson was truly a mister fix it and would visit with anyone he encountered. Most of all he had a contagious smile that would light up any room.  Jackson was loved, and he will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
