Helen Utter

Helen Marie Utter, 83 of Bluff Springs, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
She was born October 13, 1931 in Cass County, the daughter of Charles D. and Rosemary Carls Chambers.

She is survived by her niece Nancy Giovannini of Bluff Springs, and her grandchildren of the heart Rachel Walker and Marc Giovannini.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Robert Lee and Thomas M. Utter, one grandson Shane Utter Cryrier, and one sister Jane L. Kalal.

Helen attended Beardstown High School and later moved to Kankakee and work at General Foods and retired after 25 years of service. After retirement she briefly lived in Florida and Texas. She then moved back to Bluff Springs where she enjoyed reading, knitting, and listening to country music. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family and friends. She was a special “Gommie” to all that loved her and she will be greatly missed.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials have been suggested to Bluff Springs United Methodist Church. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
