Helen Evelyn Dickman, age 86 of Liberty, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.
She was born October 24, 1934 in Mason County, the daughter of Phineas and Ethel May Pierson. She married Donald “Jack” Dickman and he preceded her in death in 2006.
She is survived by three children Barbara (companion Andy Scott) Dickman of Liberty, Jackie (husband Ron) Summey of Quincy, and Sam Dickman of Jacksonville; four grandchildren Amy Hodge, Michael, Marty, and Stevie; her great grandchildren Skyler, Madison, Gavin, Easton, Bentlee, and other great grandchildren; her best friends Betty Leenerts and Marilyn Moreno; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Phineas and Arthur Pierson, and a sister Gladys Wilcox.
Helen attended Chandlerville Schools. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant in nursing homes throughout Central Illinois and a member of Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses. Helen loved animals and nature. She cared for all animals and supported many humane animal organizations. Helen enjoyed fishing, deer processing, but she was always excited for mushroom and blackberry season. She was always caring and generous and will be missed by all.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private family burial will be held. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
