Harry L. Ellison of Pekin, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born March 5, 1945 in Canton, the son of Richard and Annabelle Allaman Ellison. He married Tammi Ennis on March 3, 1995 in Canton.
He is survived by his wife Tammi Ellison of Pekin; three children Scott (wife Sarah) Ellison of Bismarck, Andrew (wife Danni) Bollinger of Pekin, and Stefanie (companion Dan Haradon) Bollinger of Oglesby; 10 grandchildren Emma, Noah, Ava, Bella, Hailie, Madeline, Frankie, Jordan, Ethan, and Annabelle; a sister Mary (husband Mike) Davis of Ohio; his brother Richard (wife Barbara) Ellison of Florida; a sister-in-law Terri (husband Mark) Van Tine of Springfield; a sister-in-law Melissa Gauf of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Katherine Douglass and Nancy Barlow.
Harry graduated from Canton High School in the class of 1963. He served four years in the United States Navy before his 30 plus year career at Graham Hospital in Canton as a healthcare safety and clinical engineer. Harry’s life was a testimony of his faith. His passion was spreading the word of God and showing others Jesus’s love. Harry was instrumental with many churches in central Illinois area throughout his adult life serving as a deacon, elder, bible college instructor, co-pastor, administrator at Riverside Community Church and currently the Associate Pastor at Trinity Church in Morton. Breakfast was his favorite meal and Harry found great satisfaction at any greasy spoon restaurant. He spent time relaxing through travel or on the golf course. His greatest joys were being “Papa Hay” to his grandchildren, “Uncle Hay” to his nieces and nephews and spending time with his family.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 29, 2021 at Trinity Church in Morton. The family will meet with friends from 4-7 PM Sunday at the church. Friends are encouraged to watch Harry’s services streaming live at 11 AM Monday on his obituary page at www.colwellmemorialhome.com. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
Due to the current health situation, face masks will be required and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
