Gloria Fritz

Gloria J. Fritz, age 78 of Beardstown, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born September 20, 1943 in Beardstown, the daughter of Melvin and Dorma Lisenbee Fritz.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Fritz of Beardstown; two grandchildren Amanda (husband Tanner) Howell and Alissa Fritz both of Beardstown; three great grandchildren Adelia, Foster, and Eason Howell also two great grandchildren on the way; and one sister Delores Jarrett of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeff Fritz, two brothers Melvin “Junior” and Ronnie Lyles, and one sister Harriet Nolen.

Gloria attended Beardstown School. She began a career with Heritage Manor East in Beardstown and retired after nearly 30 years. She then worked privately as an in-home care giver for many years. She enjoyed her yard sales and had a knack for collecting a variety of items. You could usually find her outside on a walk or in front of the television watching a classic show. She thoroughly enjoyed reading romance novels while most likely drinking an unsweet tea. No matter what she had a love for her family and a special bond with her granddaughters. Her spunky personality will be forever cherished by those who loved her most.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Wednesday.
