Gilbert Krusie

Gilbert Eugene Krusie, age 76 of Beardstown, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born May 23, 1941 in Beardstown, the son of Gilbert and Marie Schnake Krusie.

He is survived by two nephews Ed (wife Peggy) Ross of Beardstown and Bob Ross of Camp Point; three nieces Donna (husband Aaron) Stocker of Beardstown, Lou Ann (husband Stephan) Wubker of Beardstown, and Theresa (husband Marty) Hymes Thomas of Arizona; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Imogene Ross and Shirley Hymes, and one brother Garold Krusie.

Gilbert attended Beardstown High School and then began his 44 year career with the Beardstown Park District. He was the Maintenance Director and enjoyed every minute at the Park District. In his spare time, Gilbert enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family burial will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
