Gerald Dodds

Gerald Eugene Dodds, age 81 of Beardstown, died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born September 14, 1938 in Rushville, the son of Homer and Rosalee Robison Dodds.

He is survived by his son Chris Dodds of Beardstown; his daughter Missy (husband Wally) Meyer of Beardstown; three grandchildren Paige (husband Austin) Feigl, Jason Meyer, and Lexi Jo Lynn Dodds;  one sister Mary Sue Seeger of Knox City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Matt Meyer.

Gerald attended Frederick Schools and later joined the United States Air Force. He had began working for a construction company, and then started with Oscar Mayer and retired from Cargil in Beardstown. Gerald enjoyed being outdoors and anything that had to do with hunting.

The family will meet with friends from 2-4 PM Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. There will be no service or burial.
