Elva Lowe

Elva F. Lowe, 80 of Beardstown, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at her home,

She was born May 19, 1935 in Beardstown the daughter of James Edward and Florine (Simmons) Peacock. She married Danny Lowe on August 19, 1960 in Beardstown and preceded her in death on May 11, 2012.

Surviving is her son Frank Lowe of Beardstown; six grandchildren Casey Sikes, Jason Cook, Aaron Coats, Josie Coleman, Clayton Coleman, and Josh Lowe; three great grandchildren Sumeer Montgomery, Samantha Sikes, and Jarrett Cook; two brothers Everett E. Gene (wife Carol) Peacock and Jerry Lee (wife Jody) Peacock, one sister Doris Ann Belville who are all of Beardstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Danny, her daughter Teresa Lowe, two brothers Charles and Richard Peacock, and four sisters Emma, Velma, Rosemary, and Phyllis.

Elva attended Beardstown Schools and worked at the Illinois Glove Factory for many years and the Beardstown Hospital as a cook. She loved her family very much, and enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the riverboat on the bus trips and most importantly, she loved playing Bingo with all of her friends and was always a a winner, especially with all of them..

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 29, 2015 at Colwell Memorial Home. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home.
