Delores Herron

Delores Ann “Dee” Herron, age 85 of Beardstown, died Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born September 18, 1930 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Richard and Lila Phelps Drake. She married Thomas Herron on May 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2004.

She is survived by her children Tracey Price of Beardstown and Thomas Herron of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren Timothy Justin Herron of St. James, MO, Tessa Herron of Springfield, MO, Taelor Alexander of Macomb, Kylie Alexander of Beardstown, and Shayna Price of Beardstown; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father at the age of two, her mother, and step father Sam Plowright who raised her, one son Timothy Robert Herron, and her brother Richard Drake.

Dee was baptized and confirmed member of the St. John’s Lutheran church in Beardstown. She graduated from Virginia High School class of 1948. Her career was spent at home taking care of her children. Dee enjoyed spending time in the yard or with a book in her hand. She had a sweet tooth and a love for candy. Most of all she cherished her family.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 PM Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Beardstown City Cemetery with Pastor Mike Courson officiating.

Memorials have been suggested to Tiger Athletic Club (TAC).
