David Dwight Hilton, Jr., 71, of Meredosia, died at his home on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
He was born November 4, 1953, in Jacksonville, the son of David Dwight Hilton, Sr., and Doris Patsy Ruyle Hilton.
He is survived by his daughter, Fawn Hilton of Petersburg; his companion, Mindy Raush of Meredosia; his sister, Jennifer (husband Mark) Bennett; his nephew, Adam Bennett; nieces Kasi, Rilee Bennett, and Alla Hilton; and his number one four-legged friend, Russell David (Uncle Todd). He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Douglas and Christopher Hilton.
David graduated from Meredosia High School in the class of 1971. He was a member of the Laborer International Union of North America and worked as a laborer until he retired in 2008. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. David took many road trips on his Harley and side by side but also knew to stop and soak in nature with a cold beverage in hand. His contagious personality will be missed by all those who loved him the most.
The family will celebrate with friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Meredosia Community Center. Please feel free to bring a favorite side dish to share, and the family encourages guests to wear camouflage. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
