Daniel James “Jim” Stewart, age 68 of Franklin, died Monday, August 16, 2021 at Bridge Care Suites in Springfield.
He was born February 20, 1953 in Jacksonville, the son of Theodore James and Audrey Jean Neal Stewart.
He is survived by his three children Adam, Aaron, and Katie Stewart all of Springfield; two granddaughters Natalie and Alayna; one sister Julie (husband Butch) Luke; one brother Jack (wife Tammy) Stewart; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Brenda in infancy.
Jim graduated from Franklin High School in the class of 1971. He was a respected Pipeline Safety Engineer working for the Illinois Commerce Commission for over 20 years. Jim served as a volunteer for the Franklin Fire Department and was a member of Durbin United Methodist Church and Franklin Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed antiquing and collecting treasures.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private family burial will be held. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
