Carissa Cawthon

Carissa Lynn Cawthon, 40 of Maryville, and formerly of Beardstown, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at her home.

She was born August 3, 1983, in Rushville, the daughter of Bill Cawthon and Lisa Lauderback.

She is survived by her father Bill (wife Andrea) Cawthon of Galesburg; her mother Lisa Collison of Maryville; her daughter Audrey Feigl of Beardstown; and her paternal grandfather Otha William (wife Barb) Cawthon. She is preceded in death by a brother Chaise Lee Cawthon in infancy; her paternal grandmother Linda Louise Sands Cawthon, and her maternal grandparents Glenn and Dorothea Schaefer Lauderback.

Carissa attended Beardstown High School and received her Cosmetology license from Mr. John's School of Cosmetology in Jacksonville. She was employed with Beardstown Glove Factory, as a Cosmetologist, for Subway, and also as a bartender in the area's she lived. She loved animals especially cats, music, and fishing. She had a passion for crafting and arts. Carissa was witty, full of laughter and life of the party. Life brought her many highs and lows but her greatest accomplishment was bringing Audrey into this world.

Graveside memorials services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
