Bunita "Bunnie" Smith

Bunita Sue “Bunnie” Smith, age 66 of Beardstown, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born March 22, 1952 in Beardstown, the daughter of George William and Aileen Elizabeth Fritz Large. She married Fred David “Smitty” Smith on June 5, 1971 in Beardstown, and he survives.

Also surviving are her two children Nichola Sue Smith and David Smith both of Beardstown; three grandchildren Abbie May Price, Michael David Smith, and Mikayla Martina Smith (companion Adam Petri); one great great granddaughter Aliviah Alexandra Lynn Petri; and numerous brothers, sisters, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 9 AM Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Beardstown City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
