Betty Robinson

Betty Jane Robinson, age 91 of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 11, 1926 in Pisgah, the daughter of Charles and Josy Mann Witham. She married James W. “Bill” Robinson on February 16, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1975.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Leak of Jacksonville; three grandchildren Ben (wife Kara) Leak of Downs, Bill (wife Bri) Leak of Bloomington, and Sam (wife Molly) Leak of Virden; three grandchildren Kate, Caroline, and Evie; one sister Marjorie Witham; two sisters in law Annabelle (husband Frank) Birdsell and Lula Mae (husband Norman) Suttles; two brothers in law Bud Robinson and Charles (wife Marjorie) Robinson; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Jim Robinson, five brothers, two sisters, and her sister in law Doris Robinson

Mrs. Robinson attended school in Pisgah and later received her LPN degree in Jacksonville, where she retired from Jacksonville Developmental Center. She was a member of Durbin United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed Word Search puzzles but most of all she cherished her family and had an extra special bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date. Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials have been suggested to Jacksonville Special Olympics, Durbin United Methodist Church, or Donor’s Choice.
