Betty Norton

Betty Ann Norton, age 86 of Jacksonville, died Monday, November 29, 2021, at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 19,1935 in Astoria, the daughter of Luther and Leona Vaughn Bollinger. She married Edward Norton and he preceded her in death in 2003.

She is survived by four children Robert Norton of Meredosia, Carol Norton of Arenzville, Sue Norton of Meredosia, and Michael Norton of Beardstown, eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter: and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters Charlotte Norton, Mary Lou Bird, Marilyn Bollinger, Frieda Stambaugh and three brothers Richard, Robert and Eugene Bollinger.

Mrs. Norton graduated from Astoria High School. She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her family. In her free time, she enjoyed music, cooking, and watching evangelist on the television. Betty loved to visit with friends and playing cards. She had a knack for baking pies. Most of all she cherished the time spent with family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home.
