Alberta Walters

Alberta E. “Bert” Walters, age 78 of Beardstown, arrived safely in heaven Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Heritage Health in Mt. Sterling.

She was born April 29, 1938 in Beardstown, the daughter of William Albert and Myrtle Lillian Worley Malone. She married Arthur Walters on August 22, 1956 in Beardstown.

She is survived by her husband Art Walters of Beardstown; two daughters Lisa G. (husband Terry) Lashbrook and Rhonda Crane both of Beardstown, four grandchildren Amber Nicole Crane, Cody Dylan (wife Sarah) Crane, Arianna Walters, and Andrea Lashbrook; and two sisters Patsy (husband Ed) Mayes of Decatur and Myrtle Alice (husband Ernie) Bennet of Vermont.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother William Albert “Bucky” Malone.

Mrs. Walters graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1957. After spending years raising her children, she continued her career helping children by working as the noon hour supervisor at Beard Elementary for 10+ years. Alberta was the “Boss of the House”. She liked to have a clean home and when her housework was complete, you could find her outside enjoying her flower garden. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown. She will greatly be missed by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. Burial will be in the Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5-7 PM Friday at the memorial home.

Memorials have been suggested to First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.
