Eva Ruth Weaver Pigg, 96 of Beardstown, died Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Sarah D. Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

She was born February 18, 1926 in LaClede IL, the daughter of John Arfus and Ina Elizabeth Lewis Weaver. She married James Wydell Pigg on October 12, 1941 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1999.

She is survived by four children Twila Brown of Wickliffe, KY, Jim (wife Patty) Wydell of Beardstown, Richard (wife Cathy) Pigg of Wickliffe, KY, and Cheryl Ann (husband Lyndel) Perry of Beardstown; 10 grandchildren James E. Brown, Susan (husband Gary) Whybark, Kimberly (husband Rob) Greif, Christopher (wife Jill) Wydell, Richard (wife Brandi) Pigg, Joshua (wife Brandee) Pigg, Angel (husband Bailey) Feezor, Lyndel (companion Jerid) Perry, Stace (husband Chris) Herzog, and Ryan (wife Betsy) Perry; 26 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law Ernest Brown, her sister Mary Ellen Alderson, her brother William Weaver, a grandson Jamie Pigg, a grandson-in-law Mike Torres and a great grandson Christopher Pigg.

Eva graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1941. She was a member of Rushville First Christian Church and worked for Illinois Department of Transportation in Springfield. Most importantly she was a mother and loved raising her family. In her younger years she enjoyed helping in the apple orchard. Eva had a passion for hunting mushrooms, playing cards, and working in her vegetable garden. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, and they truly were her pride and joy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Colwell Memorial Home in Beardstown. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the memorial home on Sunday. Burial will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 12, 2022 at Beardstown City Cemetery.
